10-year-old girl found asphyxiated, international arrest warrant issued for her father
An international arrest warrant has been issued against a 51-year-old father. He is wanted after the discovery of the body of his daughter, found asphyxiated at the family home.
The body of a 10-year-old girl was discovered on May 12 at his home in Haute-Savoie. An international arrest warrant has been issued against his father, we learned Thursday, May 19 from a judicial source.
He’s the brother elder of the girl, born in 2011, who discovered the body at the family home in Veigy-Foncenex, a town located on the Swiss border, indicates the public prosecutor of Annecy, Line Bonnet, confirming information from RTL.
The house had been partially burned down but the autopsy concluded that “the death (of the child) was linked to mechanical asphyxia caused by the intervention of a third party”according to a press release issued by the Annecy prosecutor’s office.
The father, “unreachable since the evening of the events”, has been sought since the discovery of the body. The 51-year-old is the subject of an international arrest warrant “with request for dissemination via the Interpol channel”.
The victim’s parents “were being separated“according to the first surveys, and “the mother was absent from the home on the day of death”, add the parquet. The father was seen leaving the family home on the day of the tragedy, in the early afternoon. A search warrant was issued the following day.
A judicial investigation for “murder of a 15-year-old minor and degradation by fire”, cosaisine by two investigating judges from the criminal center of Annecy, has been opened. The investigation was entrusted to the research section of the Chambéry gendarmerie. Thirty soldiers are mobilized as part of this investigation.
