SOLVIT European Network celebrates 20th anniversary in Lisbon
ONE SOLVIT European Network marking its 20th anniversary with a meeting in Lisbon on the 18th, 19th and 20th of May.
This network was established by the European Commission in 2002 and European Union companies to exercise their rights, whenever they encounter an incorrect application of European law by a public body in another Member State, creating obstacles to the free movement of people, products and services.
The Lisbon meeting will be attended by around 80 participants from all the countries of the European Economic Area, which joins Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein to the 27 EU Member States, as well as representatives of the European Commission.
The Lisbon meeting is especially remarkable, as it marks the celebration of the network’s 20 years of existence, precisely in the Portuguese capital in 2002, not that it was the first SOLVIT Network event held in a Member State.
There is a SOLVIT Center in all European Union countries, as well as in Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein. In Portugal, the SOLVIT Center works at the General Directorate for European Affairs.
SOLVIT is concerned with the coordination of systems, such as access to reform centers and the possibility of market competition, the most frequently SOLVIT deals are with the coordination of social problems, such as access to problem-providing systems, security visas and recognition of residence of products and services, registration of vehicles or vehicles, exchange of driving licences, VAT refund and access to health education.
The best way to contact SOLVIT is through online form in all official EU languages by choosing the option ‘Troubleshooting problems with public administration relating to EU rights’.
