Processes – Munich – Judgment expected in Miesbach savings bank affair – Bavaria
Munich (dpa/lby) – In the second trial for expensive gifts at the expense of the Kreissparkasse Miesbach-Tegernsee, the verdict is expected on Wednesday (2:30 p.m.) before the Munich II Regional Court. The former CEO Georg Bromme and the ex-CSU district administrator and former supervisory board chairman Jakob Kreidl are again in the dock for infidelity.
The public prosecutor’s office has demanded two and a half years in prison for Bromme – just like in the first trial three years ago. That would put him behind bars. According to the prosecution, Kreidl should be sentenced to one year and three months probation. The defense attorneys requested significantly lower sentences, namely a suspended sentence of one year and three months for Bromme and nine months for Kreidl.
Bromme and Kreidl were responsible for the affair at the bank three years ago for expensive gifts, luxurious trips and birthday parties. At that time, the court had sentenced her to suspended prison terms of one and a half years or eleven months for breach of trust. Bromme and the public prosecutor’s office had lodged an appeal. The Federal Court of Justice (BGH) confirmed the judgments of the regional court in 2021. In the case of some allegations, however, judges in Karlsruhe need to negotiate again.
The new process is therefore primarily about gifts for Kreidl’s office and Christmas gifts for colleagues on the board of directors and the executive board. The Federal Court of Justice also came to the conclusion that the golden eagle was issued on the occasion of the nature conservation project and that there was no discernible commercial purpose.
