Monaco Women In Finance, a year of advice and benevolence
An inspiring female Think Tank that could also benefit men.
On Thursday 12 May, the penultimate conference of the season took place at the Maison des Associations on “The reality and challenges of female leadership”, an opportunity to come back to this great initiative by Monaco Women in Finance. (MWF) which promotes women in the world of finance.
It has been nine months since the Think Tank was launched. The initial objective was to help and support women in a very masculine financial sector, to eliminate the impostor syndrome and to introduce women to the finance and entrepreneurship sector.
It is clear that the adventure is successful given the number of people present at this conference. The assembly is made up of women in the vast majority, but a few men are still present.
Before the interview begins, each discusses with her neighbour, all get to know each other and exchange their business cards when they do not know each other or discuss like good copies in the opposite case. It emanates a serene and pleasant atmosphere that immediately puts newcomers at ease.
The conference itself is short, only about fifteen minutes. Effective, each word provides a basis for the participatory exchange that suits the intervention.
This Thursday, Sophie Saurini, Head of Private Banking at CMB Monaco, was the guest and recounted her experience as a woman in a financial sector where only 16% of employees are women.
Questioned by Johanna Damar Flores, she first explained what a leader is for her: “ someone inspiring and unique without wanting to enter into a confrontation between man and woman. For her, ” there is a complementarity, between the man who is more direct and the woman, who is more attentive. “She adds to adore” work with men », precisely for this complementarity.
A reservoir of ideas to give keys and recipes to apply

Advice as valuable for women as for men
This is what emerges from the whole conference: there is no confrontation between men and women. Moreover, the advice, even if it aims to help the fairer sex, can also apply to men and young people, as a general rule. The ultimate recommendation, Dare! », uttered by Sophie Saurini, applies to all. The same goes for the following tips: no need to justify yourself all the time », « don’t be afraid of failure and try ” and ” think positive », the thoughts determining our actions.
Patricia Cressot, co-founder of the MWF, confirmed it. Men have their place in the conferences: “ we advocate an egalitarian society. We are neither in feminism nor in masculinism. “Finally, the MWF is” a reservoir of ideas to give keys and recipes to apply. »
The last conference of the season should take place on June 24 at 6 p.m., and it will be Laurence Jenk, an artist famous for her Bonbon sculptures, who will be the guest to talk about NFT.
