Manturov believes that cryptocurrencies will be legalized in Russia as a means of payment – Russia |
May 18 Interfax-Russia.ru – The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov believes that sooner or later cryptocurrencies will be legalized in Russia as a means of payment. He expressed this opinion while speaking as part of the New Horizons marathon.
“I think so,” he said, answering a related marathon degree question.
“The question is when it will be, how it will be, how it will be regulated.
“Everyone is inclined to understand that this is the development of time. Sooner or later, in one format or another, it will be transformed, but once again: it must be legal, correct, in accordance with the requirements and options that will be formulated, first queue, the regulator – the central bank, and, of course, convenience,” Manturov added.
At the time of the appeal, the Central Bank takes a tough stance against the use of cryptocurrency as a means of payment. As Ksenia Yudaeva, First Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank, explained a month ago, the Bank of Russia is showing increased volatility of cryptocurrencies, their behavior requires increased attention to the financial system and possible consumer tuning. However, the regulator gradually switched to counter courses in terms of solving the mining of cryptocurrencies, although there were also processes against it.
