“Heroes of everyday life”, the ecologists of Toulouse denounce the cynicism of Moudenc
During the confinements and curfews, while the population was holed up at home, some Toulouse residents worked tirelessly to allow the maintenance of the Pink City. It is for them that the town hall of Toulouse is dedicated to its new open-air exhibition. However, the photo exposure”everyday heroes“is not to everyone’s taste, like the environmental group of Toulouse Métropole. The latter denounce, in a press release published on May 17, “the cynicism of Jean-Luc Moudenc”.
“Gap between communication and political reality”
The elected environmentalists castigate “a crying gap between the apparent benevolence of this communication campaign and the reality of brutal politics which is carried out against these personnel whose arduous work is denied by Jean-Luc Moudenc and his majority.
The green group took the recent example of a possibility of privatization of the Union garbage depot. Indeed, the idea of entrusting part of the garbage collection to the private sector in Toulouse resurfaced four months after the end of the garbage collectors’ strike.

On the Union sector, we are faced with rounds not completed or almost not completed. We cannot be told about the calibration of the rounds, because some have been carried out and since the reform, the management works very well in all the other depots. There are behaviors that raised the question and I asked the services of Toulouse Métropole to study the elimination of a public contract to delegate it to the private sector”, explained Vincent Terrail-Novès, vice-president in charge of waste. and cleanliness.
“Disregard for social dialogue”
For the opposition of the town hall, “this affair illustrates once again the contempt of Jean-Luc Moudenc for the social dialogue and for democracy. By threatening public service agents in this way, he does not create the conditions conducive to a serene and constructive dialogue between the parties,” they wrote in a press release. elected environmentalists once again plan to strongly oppose “any attempt to harm public services and community agents.” The showdown continues.
