A. Kaušpėdas was sheltered by a family of Ukrainian seniors: they were amazed by our fences while visiting Lithuania
Algirdas Kaušpėdas and Viktoras Diawara, members of the KAnDIs group, visited the studio for 15 minutes today. While visiting the studio for 15 minutes, the musicians shared their thoughts on the rebirth of the legendary “Duck”, which is full of the latest album. Some songs are well-suited to the current context – for example, when singing “Something Happened” during concerts, the words “Not for You, Martynai, Blue Sky” are replaced by “Not for You, Aliasandra, Blue Sky” or “Not for You, Putin” ” , blue sky”.

“We think that now such turbulent times, the work of” Antis “can be updated,” said A. Kaušpėdas. – When people hear those words in a song, they smile – here’s a joke, we won’t turn it down (Putin – ed. Past.), But people need psychological help in a sense. We are all tense, tired after the fight, and the war will still have to be fought hard, even though the Ukrainian army is doing well. In the process, such jokes help people gain energy. We also felt that in our concerts. ”
Diawara seconded Algirdas, saying that while the war was going on, he lived on. The interlocutor also commented on the role of musicians in the context of the war, adding that music saves and supports him in this situation.
“When the war started, I think everyone was in shock, it was hard to do, to work. But it is important to bow your head a little, to attend concerts. It’s an opportunity to take a break from all things. And the musicians in this case have a certain voice. They can point out who is participating in various promotions, events. I have a lot of fun playing the program now, and I think it’s good for people to hear it, ”Victor said. “It was in this case that those concerts helped me psychologically.”

Sheltered Ukrainian family
At that time, A.Aušpėdas revealed that in order to support Ukraine, he did not only need to be treated by K. He sheltered a Ukrainian family in his home. Algirdas told the portal for 15 minutes that this idea came to him and his wife on the first day of the war, then immediately filled in the form “Strong together”.
“We live on the highway, it would be more difficult for a family where children need to go to kindergarten or school, but it gave us a very fine family, such retirees from Zaporozhye. Both smart and experienced have. We communicate, reason and politic every day. We also became Ukrainians, and I started to understand more in Ukrainian. If you can do it, why not, ”said Algirdas.
The musician assured that the Ukrainians he took refuge in are certainly not among those who do nothing during the day. According to A. Kaušpėdas, it is boring for them to sit without activities, so they ask what useful things they can do.

“They say – when do you look like a hairdresser next time? I replied – I don’t really understand how to take care of them. Then he explained that it is necessary so and so, I say that if there is such a desire to help – please. Two-thirds have been cut, but they say there will be a good harvest now. You can see that there are hardworking, skilled, responsible, economical, intelligent people like us, ”said a member of the group KAnDIs from the point of view of guests from Ukraine.
Algirdas revealed a bit of an understanding of Ukrainian culture as well. Although it is similar to ours, as both nations are quite conservative, there are still differences. “We transport them all on a tour – to Vilnius and to Anykščiai. I showed my homeland there what those towns, cemeteries, villages of ours look like. They are interested in everything.
Says – and where are the fences, how is your village without high fences? I replied that somehow we had survived those fences. And they necessarily build high fences in the village.
So with us, some barriers to communication have been removed. We are not ashamed of what is in the yard, you drive down the street and you see flower gardens, gardens, cars. And there is a more restrained culture, where you want to leave everything and not show anything, “A. Kaušpėdas said in the studio for 15 minutes.
