PRAGUE

The self-sufficiency of Prague was sent by the energy center and the biogas plant

Sugar Mizzy May 17, 2022

Is the wolf beating Ukraine and the threat of limited gas supplies from Russia to the capital?
It’s hot. This is not just a threat to the limited supply of gas from Russia. A big impact on working cities, city companies, but also wallets Praan jumps to rising gas prices. In 2021 alone, the price rose by 170 percent and this year it will not be different. The outbreak of wolves in Ukraine, of course, view gas as a stable and affordable source of energy in a fundamental way to me.

How?
In the framework of the Climate Fully, we covered the gas as a temporary but significant source of energy. At least until 2030. Although we reckoned with the fact that it will undergo revisions, but it never occurred to us that we would have to respond to something as small as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The need to dream as much as possible of our dependence on Russian gas, and therefore I commissioned the working groups on climate change to prepare a full update.

In what sense?
The company will assess how the role of natural gas in covering the city’s energy needs will be limited and its dependence on the supply of Russian natural gas. In Prague, natural gas for heating is used by 180 thousand households and, according to several plates, thousands of customers from a number of institutions and companies. It will therefore be a matter of flight but not MSc. I would nevertheless like to submit an update to the arrest of summer.

Is this a big shift compared to the previous one?
This has in fact accelerated the way in which energy is mistaken, which is known as a matter of state or ministerial councils. In Prague, we had it last year as one of the security forces of the city of sustainable energy. Her mouth is also selfish, for example in the period of a green source. Dleit is thus innovative in the form of a smart and efficient currency. And last but not least, a reasonable price. The two of us have a more strenuous side, now we are more of a geopolitical one – how to get rid of the dependence on Russian gas.

Will you compensate Praanm in some way for price differences?
Our goal is to secure gas supplies in cooperation with the city and large energy companies. The city plays a minority role in this.

Yes, but you own Praska plynarska, which is one of the largest energy companies in the country.
You are right, but at the same time it is a normal business company that operates in the open market. We are really limited here.

Time, so how do you drink to ensure the stability of the news, especially gas and heat for households and businesses?
The first concrete step is to start the preparation of the construction of an energy center using wastewater from the central wastewater treatment plant in Bubeni. In short, it is possible that the energy center, with the help of large-capacity heat pumps, will first reduce heat energy for delivery to the neighboring localities of Dejvice and Veleslavna and in the second stages to the locality of Holeovice and to the developing country Bubny-Ztory. This is the largest heat and cold production plant in R based on heat pumps. Heat supplies from large-capacity heat pumps have been filled for several years, and the heat pumps themselves will be the driving force for electricity from renewable sources. This could cover and aunt the heat consumption in the city.

Apparently big project. When could it work?
Let’s talk about 2025.

But I guess you will diversify
Yes. Dalm step is the implementation of the project, with their help will be able to reduce gas consumption from its own resources. We have pushed for the creation of a biomethane production plant in the central wastewater treatment plant. The first stage will be put into operation this year, and if it proves to be economically efficient, its capacity will increase several times over time. As a type of biomethane source, we want our own biogas plant for the processing of municipal waste biogas units, which could be put into operation around 2025.

This will all take some time. Aren’t you thinking about what the independence of the city will support faster?
We are considering buying our own biogas plant. We provide biowaste collection. The link that is now wrong is its conversion to energy. Since you do not build biogas for the city, we want to see it fully functional. Now we are talking about Prask služby and we have reserved funds from the city reserves for the purchase. Plus, it is possible to draw funds from such European funds for such an investment. I think we will be able to share detailed information.
