the Day of historic residences is back
As many as 123 private homes distributed throughout the provinces will open their doors for exclusive visits on 22 May. To be precise 36 in the Florentine, 11 in the Aretino, 1 in the Grosseto area, 3 in the Livornese, 12 in the Lucchesia, 25 in the Lunigiana, 10 in the Terre di Pisa, 3 in the Pistoiese, 2 in the Prato area and 20 in the Siena area.
This weekend the largest widespread museum in Italy will be open to visitors in an extraordinary way thanks to the National Day of the Italian Historic Houses Association, now in its twelfth edition this year.
Over 400 exclusive places such as castles, fortresses, villas, parks and gardens can be visited for free, in an immersion in history that still makes our country identifiable in the world and which could be the pivot of long-term sustainable development. Also this year the Tuscany region holds the opening record.
That of historic buildings is a unique network, with an immense social, cultural and economic value that the owners undertake every day to preserve and enhance. In fact, historic homes can not only provide an immense cultural heritage but are also the pivot of a circular economy for the reference area.
The National ADSI Day is an opportunity to raise awareness among society and institutions on the role that historic homes play in the socio-economic fabric of the country. Their induction generates a positive impact on many supply chains: from crafts to tourism, to agricultural and wine production. There are many professionals who gravitate around a dwelling, skilled trades – artisans, restorers, glass masters – increasingly difficult to find. A heritage handed down through the centuries, also thanks to the maintenance and maintenance of the historic houses restoration, which burden exclusively on the owners.
Numerous initiatives promoted by the owners for the National Day: from exhibitions to concerts and theatrical performances, to intercept the needs of the public of all ages. The photo contest in collaboration with Photolux aimed at Instagram users is also back: more information will be detailed in subsequent communications.
The visits are free but reservations are required.
