Innovators, researchers, promising talents, creatives or also institutions and entrepreneurs. They all help Prague to support its innovative environment.

The Czech capital has a promising potential to become a European leader in innovation, for which it needs a unified vision.

Experts will discuss its needs and the changes that should occur in the metropolis within ten years at the all-day conference Innovation Visions of Prague 2030. It will take place on Tuesday, May 24, in the conference room of the Máj shopping center on Národní třída.

The event is organized by the Prague Innovation Institute (Pii), which as a registered institute of the capital connects all key innovation players from business, the city, education and academia. During the conference, the panel discussions will open up key topics and issues that the Prague innovation environment has been struggling with for a long time. At the same time, they offer solutions that can move significantly forward. The event is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Science, Research and Innovation Helena Langšádlová and Prague Mayor Zdeněk Hřiba, who will attend the conference in person. More information about the program, invited experts and registration can be found at www.picpraha.eu.

“Prague is already well on its way to becoming a recognized leader in innovation. The potential of the city must be constantly continued, especially the resources from the European Union are helping to do so. I see this conference as an ideal opportunity to share experience and know-how between the capital, the state and its institutions, the private sector and other actors, such as universities, “says the mayor of Prague, Zdeněk Hřib.

“The choice of conference topics is not random. They are defined by the strategic direction of the capital city of Prague and highlight an area that they represent in terms of business and research of the Prague future not only for the next ten years. One of the missions of the Prague Innovation Institute is to create a functional synapse between innovation actors, so we invite everyone who has to do with the topic of innovation in the capital, “says Pii director Bohumil Kartous.

The conference will be divided into six thematic blocks. The first of these, concerning the support of entrepreneurship and innovation, will ask the invited expert how to specifically support the ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship development in the capital. Urban innovations will deal with the topic of sustainability and the circular economy, which Prague will continue to use. The AI and Digitization panel will show how important Prague is the center of artificial intelligence in Europe.

Conversely, the subject of science, space and research will outline how ambitions in space research and business can play a role in the future metropolis, where its weaknesses and opportunities for change lie. The potential of high school and university students is huge, how to use it properly and how to motivate students, this will be addressed by experts in the panel on innovation in education. The conference will also include the topic of cultural and creative industries, which can be an excellent opportunity for business and society development. The whole event will end in the evening with FuckUp Night with Tomáš Studeník, this time focusing on “fuckups” in the field of innovation.
