The largest pan-European conference for experts in the field of radio, podcasting and audio content production Radiodays Europe will be held in Prague next year. The organization of the event, which will take place on 26-28. March 2023, Czech Radio will also take part, celebrating its centenary in the same year.

“For the year 2023, we chose the Czech Republic and Prague as the host city because it is a very interesting and vibrant radio market. next year Czech Radio is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the official launch of radio broadcasting, and this is a great opportunity to present the Czech audio industry in addition to Europe, “said Peter Niegel, Executive Director of Radiodays Europe at a conference in Malmö, Sweden.
Traditional conference participants include public service media, commercial radio, and independent audio creators from around the world.
“Czech Radio, or its predecessor Radiojournal, was only the second broadcasting company after the BBC to officially broadcast on radio in Europe, and we are glad that the organizers of Radiodays Europe chose Prague also with regard to the significance of this anniversary. At the same time, it is an appreciation of Czech Radio’s very active approach in recent years within the European Broadcasting Union and within the European space in general, “said René Zavoral, CEO of Czech Radio.
Radiodays Europe was born in 2010 in response to the needs of the European broadcasting industry, both public and private, to meet and discuss new media challenges.

The conference, which annually addresses more than 1,600 participants from 62 countries, inspires, innovates and is shared in the radio and audio industries and to support program development and good radio journalism.
The first Radiodays Europe conference took place in Copenhagen and over the years has hosted a number of major European cities, such as Barcelona, Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, Vienna and Lisbon. Prague is the first city in the region of Central and Eastern Europe to welcome the participants of this conference.
The main organizer is a non-profit organization called Radiodays Europe, which was founded by the Scandinavian public service broadcasters Sveriges Radio, the Danish broadcaster DR, NRK Radio and the Finnish YLE.
