Médard substitute for an LR candidate in the legislative elections
After announcing his retirement at the beginning of May, which will be effective at the end of this season, Maxime Médard is heading towards political life. The back of Stade Toulousain will be the substitute for Laurence Arribagé, candidate (Les Républicains) for the next legislative elections in the 3rd district of Haute-Garonne.
Toulouse rugby player Maxime Médard will be the substitute for candidate LR Laurence Arribagé in the third constituency of Haute-Garonne, during the legislative elections to be held in June, she announced on Tuesday.
“Committed citizen, legend of Stade Toulousain and the XV of France and entrepreneur, I am pleased to announce that Maxime Médard will be my deputy for the 2022 legislative elections”, wrote Laurence Arribagé on his Twitter account.
The international rear, finalist of the 2011 World Cup, announces at the end of April to retire at the end of the season, at 35 years old. Arriving at Stade Toulousain in 2000, he won the Top 14 five times and the European Cup three times, and wore the Blues jersey 63 times.

Under the banner of the Republicans, he composed a very sporty duo with Laurence Arribagé, sports assistant at the town hall of Toulouse, president of the party in Haute-Garonne, and incidentally wife of the former professional footballer Dominique Arribagé.
