On Thursday afternoon, and not Sunday 22 May, the last game of the first fabulous season of Victor San Marino in the championship of Excellence will be played. The biancazzurri of mister D’Amore will face Colorno away, who together with Castenaso aim to qualify for the national play-offs for promotion to Serie D by coming first in the triangular playoff between the second rankings.
Captain Barone and his teammates are ready to stand up for last Sunday’s unjust defeat and to honor their commitment to the club and to the fans who, again this Thursday, will be at their side. It is played at 16.30 at the municipal stadium of Colorno (Parma).
Gianni D’Amore, coach of Victor San Marino, says: “Last Sunday the team played a good game: we held the ball, created chances and we believed in it until the end. We made mistakes that cost us dearly, but the performance was important. The players are calm because they are aware that they have given everything: you don’t always win and we have shown that we know how to lose with dignity. Colorno asked us to bring forward the last game of the regional playoffs because, in the event of a victory, they will have to face a play-off and consequently we had to. For us the match has no ranking value, but we want to end the season with a good performance “.
Mario Barone, captain of Victor San Marino, declares: “We all gave our all last Sunday at the Serravalle stadium. In the double confrontation it had to be our team, but football is also this: we were unlucky in the episodes and they were good at exploiting the opportunities they had. Not wanting to make any controversy and not wanting any alibi, I would just hope that the referees would look at the games, as we do in order to grow and improve, because coming out of the regional playoffs in this way hurts a little. We wanted to play it all in the next match in Colorno, but we accept the result knowing that we have done our best, as we will do it anyway in this last match. This Thursday in front of a great team that will do everything to win, but we can not help but cheer the commitment. We owe it to this club, to the technical staff and to the people of San Marino, for always being supportive towards us, and then we owe it to us “.
