Prague – Prime Minister Petr Fiala (ODS) received the Austrian Chancellor Karel Nehammer today in Kramář’s villa in Prague. In addition to bilateral relations, it should discuss the effects of the war in Ukraine or the European agenda. They will also talk about the culminating preparations for the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU, which are in line in the second half of this year. He will comment on the results of the meeting at 1.30 pm at the Straka Academy.
Fiala invited Nehammer to Prague for the first mutual meeting in February this year in Brussels. At the time of the two-day summit of the European Union and the African Union, he discussed with the Austrian Chancellor, among other things, the view of nuclear energy, which divides the Czechia and Austria. According to the APA agency, Nehammer wants to “reaffirm Austria’s opposition to nuclear energy”.
After the entry of Fiala’s government, the Austrian Minister of Foreign Affairs Alexander Schallenberg also visited the Czech Republic. At the end of December, he was the first foreign guest to receive Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský (Pirates) after entering the Černín Palace. At the time, they were talking about regional cooperation or measures against covid-19.
