Easee launches slim car charger in the Netherlands

Sugar Mizzy May 17, 2022

The first slim charger with a sleek design for electric cars

Amsterdam, May 17, 2022 – Easee, one of the fastest growing GreenTech scale-ups in Europe, announces that chargers for electric cars are available in the Netherlands. The Easee charging robot is a slim charger that automatically adapts to any electric car and the electricity grid. They are designed to make charging your electric car as simple, slim and efficient as possible. The charger is easy to install; at home in the driveway, in the garage of the apartment complex or in the parking lot at the office. The chargers are developed and produced in their home country of Norway, a leader in the field of (green) e-mobility.

Small size, sleek design

This charger also shows that the functionality is not at the expense of the looks. It is a lightweight of only 1.5 kg with the size of barely an A4 sheet (26x19cm). The design of the charging robot has not gone unnoticed: in 2021, the Easee won the Red Dot Award for best product design. Easee has thus developed the first slim charger with a modern, Scandinavian design.

Innovative solutions: from your own driveway to residential complex

In addition to the charger, Easee has several accessories, such as the Easee Equalizer. The Equalizer is a small, sleek device designed to enhance the charging experience. Thanks to the Equalizer, the energy consumption of your home is balanced with the charger of the car, which is also called Dynamic Load Balancing. Are you doing laundry, is the dishwasher doing its job and is the oven/microwave on? Then there is temporarily less energy going to the car. If all devices are switched off, for example at night, the car can be charged electrically again at full power (up to 22 kW). In this way, the available energy is optimally utilized and utilized.

In the case of multiple connected linked tasks ensure that they are connected to each other, in order to be able to perform all available capacity automatically among the connected cars. The empty cars have priority over the cars that are (almost) full. Very honest and efficient. At home, up to three chargers can be connected to one circuit. In residential complexes can even go up to 101 chargers.

With the Easee App is easy to manage. You can set a charging time, avoid peaks to save costs, check the status, adjust the charging power and remotely prevent the charging cable from theft. All chargers are connected to the internet (wifi) and enabled 4G (e-sim). One of the fastest growing GreenTech scale-ups in Europe

Easee was founded in 2018 by Kjetil Næsje (CTO), Steffen Mølgaard (CDO) and Jonas Helmikstøl (CEO) with a mission to redefine the way we use electricity. With a turnover of 140 million euros in 2021 and more than 500,000 chargers sold, Easee is one of the fast-growing GreenTech scale-ups in Europe. Easee has the ambition to become the largest GreenTech player in Europe by 2031. Recently, the Norwegian has more than 300 employees and is active in more than 20 European countries, including recently the company also in the Netherlands.

Jonas Helmikstøl, CEO Easee: “The Benelux is very important for Easee. For more than a decade, these countries have been adopting electric vehicles and chargers on a large scale. This experience and knowledge contribute to our mission to shape the future of electricity. Currently the office in Amsterdam is further expanded to contribute. Because the demand for electricity comes in quickly, it is important to use and distribute the power in a lean way. At Easee, we make this possible, so that the switch to EVs is accessible to everyone.”

The charger from Easee is available in five colors (white, anthracite grey, red, dark blue and black) and is sold at a suggested retail price of €849 including VAT.

More than convenience

Easee was founded in January 2018 by three Norwegian entrepreneurs with the ambition to create the world’s smartest charger for electric vehicles. Today, the company continues to advance in innovative charging and power management technology solutions, with an ecosystem that provides users with an experience from A to Z.

Easee has since grown from 3 to more than 300 employees and has offices in Norway, the Benelux, the United Kingdom and Germany. Easee develops, designs and manufactures its products in Scandinavia and currently exports to more than 20 countries within Europe.

The ambition is to become one of Europe’s most comprehensive green technology companies by 2026 and one of the largest in the world by 2031. Hoe? By letting his powerful vision resound in everything: shaping the future of electricity and corporate culture.

This means that the company focuses on the development of scalable and future-oriented technology, and aimed at demonstrating a sustainable organization with a people-oriented culture. A culture in which the employee comes first. All the time.
