In the 24th round of the Tirol Liga there were no points for the General Union Innsbruck. Of the SK St. Johann was clearly the better eleven that day, but had luck on his side early in the game. Union scored a regular goal that was disallowed. But in the end a 3:1 success for SK St. Johann.
Clear thing for St. Johann – with luck at the beginning
Roland Springinsfeld, coach SK St. Johann: “The Union started the match very well and luck was on our side. We conceded two offside goals, one of which was not offside. The team got a better grip on the game after that and we had a few chances to score. With a double strike from Nicolas Hofer and Christoph Bader, we were finally able to take a 2-0 lead – and that’s how it went at the break.
We got off to a better start in the second half and were able to extend our lead to 3-0 in the 59th minute through Axel Krimbacher. After that, Innsbruck risked more and scored a goal through Stefan Milenkovic in the 66th minute. After that the game got hectic again, but we were still able to take the win home. All in all, a deserved win for my team, who had far more chances to score.”

Six more rounds or when will the relegation be mathematically certain?
Union Innsbruck is currently thirteen points ahead of FC Zirl – eighteen points are still up for grabs. Zams will have to join the gang in the state league – that’s been certain for a long time. In the coming round, the Union Innsbruck Kundl was received and could become a favorite fright again. Zirl plays at home against Volders – so the question of relegation could be clarified purely mathematically – but very unlikely given Kundl’s strength. In the fight for the title, Kundl can possibly speculate that SPG Silz/Mötz will lose points at home against Innsbrucker AC.
