Lukashenka is in fear of being shot, – Piontkovsky explains why Belarus does not send troops
A Russian publicist told Channel 24 about this Andrey Piontkovsky. At the same time, he drew attention to the attitude of representatives of the member countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) towards the Russian president.
Pay attention to the territory of Belarus, there are almost no Russian troops left: has the threat to Ukraine disappeared?
Lukashenka will go to fold, – Piontkovsky
“Lukashenko, on pain of being shot, refuses to send troops into Ukraine, not because he is a “friend of the Ukrainian people,” but because he is transferring: this army is directly turning into the Belarusian National Legion and is going to dump it,” Andrei Piontkovsky said.
Note that in Belarus they have already begun to clear the areas where Russian troops were based. However, this does not mean that the threat to Ukraine has disappeared.
The second personal shame of Putin
By the way, at the CSTO summit, Lukashenka issued another absurd statement on Ukraine. And this is with the exception of a call to relative countries to unite, otherwise tomorrow “they may simply not be there.”
The self-proclaimed president of Belarus decided that Poland wanted to take over Ukraine. In his imagination, Warsaw created “thousand-strong units” for this. According to Andrei Piontkovsky, a member of the CSTO member state, no intention of Putin or Lukashenko is even expected.
All of them (the CSTO states – channel 24) are just waiting for the fall of Russia,
Piontkovsky stated.
“Today’s CSTO is Putin’s second personal disgrace after the parade,” the Russian publicist believes.

CSTO summit held in Moscow: briefly
- On May 16, the summit of the countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization was held in the Kremlin. Representatives of member countries discuss Ukraine in a closed format.
- In particular, it was at the CSTO summit that Putin dramatically changed his position on Finland and Sweden joining NATO. Earlier in Russia, a “threat due to the takeover of the Alliance” was announced, but the position suddenly changed and, for some reason, “there are no more problems.”
- discussion of Ukraine’s exhibition at the summit was “behind closed doors”, one can only assume what the Russian dictator said. Military cases send their troops to Ukraine to help the occupying army.
- In addition, by the fall of 2022, the CSTO countries have planned joint medical facilities.
