San Marino makes its way on the Romea-Germanica – Chronicle
The route of the Via Romea-Germanica, the second route inserted between the ‘Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe’ and between the ‘Paths of Europe’ will also pass through the Republic of San Marino thanks to a ‘link’ that will connect the Titan with Bath of Romagna. The Via Romea-Germanica which starts from Stade, in Germany and ends in Rome after having also crossed Austria, follows the original path of Father Alberto di Stade of 1225, recounted step by step in his diary. “The connection with the Romeo-Germanic road – say from the Secretariat for San Marino a great opportunity for tourism promotion and meets the will of the internationals who evaluate the transnationality of the projects”. San Marino becomes the fourth nation crossed by this path together with Germany, Austria and Italy. “The recognition of the Via Romea-Germanica as a route of international interest by the Council of Europe is due to the great commitment made in his role as ambassador by the late Mauro Maiani who, thanks to an important diplomatic work, involved the members of the scientific committees of the paths, achieving what was hoped for. Today it was dedicated to him to sign the protocol that certifies San Marino’s adhesion to the project “. The Secretary of State for Tourism Federico Pedini Amati has signed, together with the coordinator of the project Liviana Zanetti, a cooperation agreement in the field of tourism promotion, with the municipalities of Romagna-Tuscany (Verghereto, Santa Sofia, Portico and San Benedetto, Marradi , Dovadola, Tredozio, Rocca San Casciano, Palazzuolo sul Senio, Galeata, Castrocaro terme and lands of the sun, Sarsina, Premilcuore, Modigliana, Firenzuola, Bagno di Romagna). The agreement between San Marino and the municipalities of San Leo, Coriano, Montefiore and Verucchio was also signed for the activation of the territorial enhancement project ‘Gusta Borgo … the territory is served’ which provides for the organization of a series weekends (one in each municipality and one in San Marino) for the promotion of the typical local products of each area and outdoor and experience activities.
