Brazilian woman dies in Portugal after traveling to find daughter and grandchildren
The family of Eunice de Oliveira Soares, 69, is struggling to bring her body to Brazil after the woman died in Portugal, where she had been to visit her daughter and grandchildren since February. They are awaiting an autopsy to confirm if she had a heart attack and fell, hitting his head, last Friday (6). The parents are now trying to raise the amount of R$ 108 thousand to cover the costs of the transfer.
In an interview with the newspaper THE GlobeEunice’s daughter Clemente was not a hospital mother but was released. According to her, her mother left the hospital walking and talking normally. But Eunice felt sick on the way back home, complaining of a lot of pain in her stomach and ended up passing out again.
One was called and the runners were not called but to resuscitate her, her death having been confirmed in the hospital. The autopsy will be carried out in the European country.
The niece for Eunice to be buried in Brazil. “If we don’t reach the goal for the transfer, we at least want to go there, which costs, on average, 6 thousand euros (32 thousand reais at the current price)”, she said. “If they still won’t reach, at least the costs of the passage for the two daughters who can go to meet two brothers who are here in Portugal”.
Zandomenico fears that the body will be buried for not reaching the necessary value. “If we don’t achieve any of the above goals, the body will have to be cremated, which the family doesn’t want and it wasn’t my Aunt’s will. That would be the possibility.”
