2022 Standard Bank Sikuvile Journalist Award announces shortlist
There were also no entries on the list in category 8: Popular journalism as no entries met the category criteria.
The selection list was decided by the jury in 2022, which consisted of:
- Tyrone August
- Melanie-Ann Feris
- Ryland Fisher
- Helen Grange
- Pippa Green
- Thabo Leshilo
- Map of Mhlangu
- Lesley Mofokeng
- Ruth Motau
- Neo Ntsoma
- Sue Olswang
- Mary Papayya
- Gus Silber, and
- Beauregard Trump.
The award has acknowledged that jury member Phindile Mary Xaba passed away on Saturday, May 7, after a battle with cancer. Sanef, Standard Bank Sikuvile Journalist Award teams and jury members send condolences to the relatives.
All winners in the category will receive Sikuvile Journalist Award trophy, certificate and R15 000 prize money (to be shared if there is more than one winner in the category). Participants in the finals will also receive a certificate.
The award, hosted by the South African National Editors’ Forum and sponsored by Standard Bank, will announce all winners at a live event at The Venue, Melrose Arch, on Saturday 25 June.

- Category 15: Allan Kirkland Soga: Lifetime Achiever Award.
