“30 projects selected out of 70 proposals”
“The growing attention with respect to the area that we have decided to tackle, in a completely obvious way, is highlighted by the number of proposals we received after announcing to the international scientific community the intention to organize a conference in which to deepen the messages and styles with which gender identities are represented in the media. Against the 30 projects selected, in fact, 70 were received from countries such as Spain, China, England and the United States “. These are the words with which Luca Gorgolini, lecturer at the University of the Republic of San Marino, measures the impact of the conference which tomorrow and Wednesday, 10 and 11 May, will host a series of insights on the ways in which, in newspapers and blogs , passing through television and social networks, female, male, non-binary and LGBTQ + identities are proposed, ranging from present to past. “The interventions – continues the academic, who organized the initiative together with his colleague Elena D’Amelio – were selected to give the event a multidisciplinary breath. With us, in fact, we are scholars of sectors such as communication, sociology, history and the visual arts, coming from various continents and ready to offer reflections and analyzes capable of returning a transnational view of phenomena and processes under consideration “. The conference, entitled “Media and genre: history, representation, reception”, will take place in the university headquarters of the Ex Tribunal, in the historic center of the Titano, thanks to the activities of the Department of Human Sciences and the Department of History, Culture and History of San Marino. Free admission until all available places are exhausted.
