The future Administrative City of Toulouse is betting on modernity
The construction of the new administrative city of Toulouse is about to start. Delivery in two years for a budget of 120 million euros.
This time it’s gone! After an appeal by the Eiffage group before the Toulouse administrative court to challenge the awarding of the construction contract to Vinci-Bourdarios and final validation by the Council of State of the call for tenders procedure, the construction site of the future administrative city of Toulouse will be able to start… Exit then, the old buildings of the boulevard Lascrosses, however renovated at great expense in recent years and make way for modernity.
The new complex will be located on the Lemaresquier site, more precisely on the military ground of the former aeronautical test center (CEAT) at the foot of the Jolimont hill, partly in an Art Deco building which will be completely restored, to another part in new constructions.
The symbol of a renovated administration
The objective reaffirmed by the regional prefect Etienne Guyot, on behalf of the State: “to build the emblematic project of a modern administration: sober in energy, rich in functionalities, in conviviality and in shared spaces, but also efficient in terms of security of information systems and user accessibility”. On the side of the prefecture, we readily recall that the construction of the new administrative city is “the result of a desire to group together several public services and to accommodate, in a functional building complex responding to the economic, environmental, current real estate and future, a little more than 1,600 agents from several national, regional and departmental directorates”. It will be fully integrated into the heart of a new metropolitan district which will house housing, shops, services, leisure and outdoor spaces. During a visit to the site of the Director of State Real Estate, Alain Resplandy-Bernard made this site a symbol. “This project is an opportunity for each and every user to be an actor in the transformation that the State is committed to carrying out for the benefit of the environment, energy savings, digital development, modernization and simplification of public action”, he underlined. With particular attention to the civil servants themselves. In addition to the technical phases, a reinforced change support system for all personnel involved in the project was desired. “This new ambition of communication, of participation, should allow each and everyone to project themselves into this new real estate environment, to propose uses, facilities, to appropriate the future administrative city, to be an actor in this major real estate project for state services in Occitania”, assures the prefect Etienne Guyot. Very concrete and precise questions were thus asked with the staff representatives, relating to workspaces, the possible creation of a crèche, but also mobility and parking, as well as the evolution of the Guillaumet district. . The new administrative city should be completed in 2024, after three years of work for a budget of 120 million euros.
