Nine leaders of Scout groups in Madeira are present at the National Conference of Scouts of Portugal, which takes place this weekend, on the 7th and 8th of May, at the Caparica University Campus, in the city of Almada.
In a note sent to the communication, the Head of Group 101 of Santa Luzia that the participation of regional representatives “is an indication of the resilience of Scouting in Madeira, confirming what the region continues to have on the national scene”.
The reconstruction of the Scout movement is visible in Madeira through the strong demand since January, both from the young people themselves and from their families.
The Nacional is the highest body of the Scouts Association of Portugal and decides, in these two days, very important aspects and with a strong impact on the lives of Scout Groups as well, namely the review of its pedagogical program as well as the Strategic Plan for 2023/2028 .
The Associação dos Escoteiros de Portugal is the founder of Portuguese Scouting (1911) and a founding member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (1922), the largest and oldest world organization dedicated to youth, which brings together 55 million members worldwide and abundantly known for the complementary educational value it offers.
