Prague showed detours of the Barrandov Bridge. Drivers will drive an extra 17 kilometers
Extra mileage
The published detour routes are not a big surprise, they lead along the Prague ring road. The western route is shorter – through the tunnels to Barrandov and back down to Barrandov Bridge. However, traffic complications can occur there, because the city recently canceled the left lane and only runs on the bridge once. The detour should add less than six kilometers to the driver.
Probably more passable, but the longer route leads east. Drivers should drive to the main junction with the D1 motorway at Modletice and then continue to the center. Here again, complications can be expected in 5th May Street, where traffic will increase significantly. The detour route is also not entirely ideal in terms of length. Added 17 extra miles.
The fact that the Prague ring road is charged in both cases of detours is also important. Drivers who, for example, now commuted from Jíloviště and did not need a stamp, will have to purchase one due to detours.
