There will be no draw in Prague 5 for the admission of catching children to schools. City part of the operating capacity for all local freshmen
Prague 5 will provide enough places for all first-graders on its territory. Nepomucká Elementary School in Košíře, which is the only school in recent years to be able to admit first-graders to the limit of its capacity, will be able to accept all catchment children. The extraordinary council of the city district approved the establishment of a detached workplace in the Poštovka building and thus provided the necessary places for catching children in this locality.
“It is a temporary solution before we build a completely new school for the needs of Košíř and especially the Cibulka locality. We had this variant in the game, but in the end it turned out to be the fastest. The former mother’s building is managed by the city district and we have decided to temporarily return her to her education. The building has all the school parameters of the building as sufficient social facilities or class sizes. We will prepare one or two classes as needed, including serving lunches, ” says the mayor of Prague 5 Renáta Zajíčková.
Košíře has been one of the most dynamically developing localities in Prague 5 in recent years. It was the unpopular draw between the first-graders for admission to the catchment school that was the target of legitimate criticism from their parents.
“As a mother and as a long-time cantor, I completely understand that. As mayor, I am also responsible for ensuring education and ensuring sufficient capacity has been my priority from the beginning. I am glad that my colleagues in the Council are creating a solution with Poštovka. The school is easily accessible with parking for cars, and it is not a busy, dangerous place, ” adds Mayor Zajíčková.
The Poštovka building will return to the list of school facilities in Prague 5 until the opening of the new building in Na Výši Street, which is already necessary to work on. local first graders at school desks. In addition, the city district will arrange a daily morning collection of first-graders from the entire Cibulek locality.
