As part of the “eat&meet” culinary festival from May 6th to 22nd, 2022, the old town of Salzburg offers sensual pleasures, cozy get-togethers and aromatic culinary delights.
Philosophical conversations with old friends or new acquaintances, at events such as “Steak meets Wine”, Mother’s Day brunch, afternoon tea, live candy productions and cake in a new guise – the Imaginative gastronomy there have been no limits since the beginning of this particular festival. After a two-year break, the culinary festival eat&meet invites you to 100 events in Salzburg’s old town in May 2022. Around 50 gastronomy partner companies offer their guests dinner on seventeen event days and offer urban excursions in the world of pleasure for all senses.
The old town of Salzburg as a pleasure stronghold
In the fourteenth year after the first festival, the culinary festival lives up to its name. After all, SalzburgerLand has the highest density of toque-awarded chefs in Austria, and this festival pays tribute to that. But Salzburg is also a hotspot of the cultural world. “eat & meet” has brought both together. In addition to the obvious pleasures for the palate, the focus of this year’s gourmet festival is “Come together again”, encounters and creative exchange in good company.
It’s not just about the food here – it’s also about the preparation, the right food, the right drinks and, last but not least, kitchen philosophies. A look behind the scenes of famous chefs gives an idea of the love with which every product is prepared here.
The list of participating restaurants, bistros and inns is as diverse and colorful as the gastronomy and pub scene in the old town. The series of events ranges from a finely coordinated 6-course menu including wine accompaniment in the upscale gastronomy to the rustic white sausage morning shop in the cozy tavern. And one or the other insider tip should not be missing.

2022 is all about the second of the two parts of eat&MEET’s name. What we have missed the most in the past few months has: Meeting other people in the public of a hospitable house.

Culinary city walk
A special highlight this year are the culinary city walks with the Salzburg guides, who present the tour participants with delicious rarities from the region to accompany the cultural delicacies.
