4,000 people celebrated culture at the Château d’Avignon – Back to … – L’Institut
On the occasion of the launch of “Pays d’Arles, Provençal capital of culture”, the Château d’Avignon, owned by the Department, welcomed more than 4,000 visitors during a great festive day on Saturday 30 April.

Until October, you can visit the superb Château d’Avignon estate from Wednesday to Sunday. For the European Days of Archeology in June and Heritage in September, don’t miss the events that will be offered there.

On the initiative of the Department, more than 4,000 Provençals responded present Saturday, April 30 at the Château d’Avignon during a festive and popular day. Visits to the castle and the workshops for reassembling the frescoes of the Maison de la Harpiste, concerts, shows, the many activities offered have delighted young and old alike.

The Pays d’Arles becomes “Provençal Capital of Culture” in 2022.
On this occasion, the President of the Departmental Council Martine Vassal, accompanied by many elected representatives of the territory, also launched the label “Pays d’Arles, Provençal capital of culture”. In 2022, the 29 municipalities of the Pays d’Arles will offer their thousands of visitors a rich cultural program thanks to the support of the Department.
