“European Commission he has two months to assess the application, which he then refers to the board, which has another month to comment. So after three months, if the statement is positive, money from the first request for payment will flow to Slovakia, “said the general director of the recovery plan section at the Office of the Government of the Slovak Republic on Friday. Lívia Vašáková.
Request one payment
Prime Minister Eduard Heger (OĽaNO) announced that Slovakia will ask the European Commission on Friday for a recovery plan of almost 460 million euros after meeting all fourteen milestones and goals in this group.
“This is the first payment request out of a series of ten, the recovery plan is divided. Slovakia plans to write a second request for payment in the second half of the year in the amount of 815 million euros, “said Vašáková.
Four more calls will be published
Requests for the first payment from the recovery plan are reforms, but the competent ones are already working on investments. “Ten calls worth more than 60 million euros have been announced so far, and as some ministers and secretaries of state have announced, they will publish four more calls worth more than 100 million euros in the coming days,” the head of the recovery plan at the government office said.
The section also performs the function of the National Implementation and Coordination Authority, which coordinates the implementation of the recovery plan at the national level.
The teams are responsible for implementing the recovery plan
According to the preparations for the implementation of the recovery plan, Slovakia is among the first countries in the European Union. “We were five when submitting the recovery plan, the third when setting the implementation rules, and now we will be the seventh country covered by the payment request,” said Vasakova.
“I consider it most important that teams are set up in the government and individual ministries that are responsible for implementing the recovery plan. It is the spirit of cooperation, frequent communication, and the solution of cross-cutting issues that are, in my opinion, key to success, as Slovakia can provide an extremely interesting recovery plan, “added Vašáková.
