Seven (out of seven) at home for AS Monaco!
Winners of Angers (2-0) this Sunday during the 35th day of Ligue 1, the Red and Whites sign a 7th consecutive victory and remain more than ever in the race for the podium.
And seven! Once again on a great day, AS Monaco signed a seventh consecutive success this Sunday against Angers (2-0), confirming their status as the most in-form team among the five major European championships. The Reds and Whites had not signed such a series of victories in Ligue 1 since January-February 2021!
The 4-4-2 renewed despite the absentees
Deprived of three suspended players, namely Vanderson, Axel Disasi and Aurélien Tchouameni, as well as Gelson Martins suffering from adductors, Phillipe Clement does not shake up his system in 4-4-2 and replaces them position for position by Ruben Aguilar, Guillermo Maripán , Eliot Matazo and Sofiane Diop.
The start of the game is very rhythmic and rich in chances. The first is for the visitors but Marin Jakolis, found in the area, does not fit his recovery (2and). The Monegasques respond quickly with a header on target from Kevin Volland (5and) and a head-to-head unfortunately missed by Wissam Ben Yedder, whose attempt goes over (9and). Solicited by Angelo Fulgini (15and) then Marin Jakolis (19and), Alexander Nübel is then vigilant.
Youssouf Fofana in Maradona mode
The match calmed down in the following minutes, even though the Reds and Whites had control of the ball. Eliot Matazo tries to hit after a badly returned corner, but it slips away (36and). Philippe Clément’s team is finally rewarded just before the break. After a ball recovered in the last 30 meters, Youssouf Fofana performs a festival in the heart of the area then strikes. His shot was saved by Anthony Mandrea on Abdoulaye Bamba, who pushed the ball into his own net (1-0, 42and).
Goaaaal! Goaal!

Three goals disallowed… before a record!
This but just before half-time completely frees the Red and Whites, who attack very hard on the return from the locker room. Wissam Ben Yedder, found behind by Caio Henrique, still stumbles on Mandrea (46and), before being denied two goals for offside (49and52and), like Kevin Volland (47and) just before him.
But the Monegasque captain was rewarded for his efforts on the hour mark. After a smooth counterattack led by Aleksandr Golovin, Kevin Volland shifted his buddy from “Yedderland”, who made the break and scored his 21and but of the season in the league (2-0, 61and), its recording on a single exercise.

See you Friday in Lille
The Angevins try to come back to the score but neither Angelo Fulgini (66and), nor Stéphane Bahoken (69and), do not find the path of the nets. It is even Monaco who continue to create the best chances, like Wissam Ben Yedder, who sees Mandrea take the ball from him for a double at the last moment (74and), and the score finally remains there. For their next match, Philippe Clément’s men will challenge Lille on Friday (9 p.m.). With the objective of continuing their sublime dynamic and signing an 8and affiliate win.
