AC Milan football director Paolo Maldini is currently pushing to snatch Riyad Mahrez from Manchester City.
Mahrez is now in the final 18 months of his contract at City and is attracting interest from across Europe. PSG are very interested, as they see the Algerian international as a potential replacement for Angel di Maria.
However, the daily Tuttosport claims that Milan and Maldini would be best placed to get their hands on the former Le Havre. The Milanese leader would even give priority to this recruitment and an offer would already be in preparation with this in mind.
Not to miss
Mahrez could reunite with Bennacer
If he takes the direction of San Siro, Mahrez will be able to find his teammate in the Algerian selection, Ismaël Bennacer. The latter is now part of the executives of the Lombard team. He has just played his 100th match there.
A framework is also the status of Mahrez at Manchester City. He has totaled 185 games and 62 goals there since joining the club in 2018. It would therefore be surprising to see the English champions let him go. Pep Guardiola is able to put his veto. The Catalan has no desire to part with the one who is his number 1 offensive weapon this season (23 successful achievements).
