Grégory Doucet, the mayor of Lyon, parodied in series by his refractories
Parody of Mayor Grégory Doucet by Lyon swimming pool agents.
The ecologist mayor of Lyon, Grégory Doucet is the target of all parodies. Agents of the city, collective of inhabitants or even CGT, they use humor to make themselves heard.
Since his election in 2020, Grégory Doucet, the environmentalist mayor of Lyon, has caused ink to flow and sparked numerous parodies on the side of his refractories. Rarely has a mayor of Lyon been the target of so much ridicule. The latest: a parody of the film”Jaws” by Steven Spielberg. A poster produced by the CGT to denounce the abolition of a seasonal bonus for pool attendants in the city. Grégory Doucet appears as a great white shark with threatening teeth. As a title: “The teeth of the mayor, the first victim: the agents“.
La Guillotière, heart of parodies
The masters in the matter? The collective “La Guillotière in anger”. These inhabitants of the Guillotière district (Lyon 7th) regularly denounce the incivilities spotted near their homes, such as the silicone damage, rue Chalopin, discovered last Thursday. The objective: to point out the inaction of the City of Lyon in their district.
Early March, gunshots seriously injure a man in Place Raspail (Lyons 7th). A news item that recalls other shootings in the neighborhood. Faced with the silence of Grégory Doucet, the collective had published a parody advertisement: “Does it shoot live ammunition downstairs? Send “Greg” to 6900 and receive a soothing and hilarious wall mural!”. The whole was accompanied by a photo of the mayor of Lyon, endowed with a slight smile next to a rainbow flower, as if to underline, with irony, Grégory Doucet’s lack of interest in the face of gravity. of the situation .
“The parodies, cIt’s our Charlie Hebdo side, it’s better to laugh than cry because the situation is deplorable.“
Nathalie Balmat, president of the collective “La Guillotière enrage”
This advertisement also refers to the fresco created on the stairs at the intersection of rue Pasteur and rue Basse Combalot (Lyon 7th). Result of a participatory workshop organized by the City of Lyon and the town halls of the 3rd and 7th arrondissements for “improve the living environment around Place Gabriel Péri“.
Ironically the decisions of the City
In another parody published by the collective “La Guillotière enrage” in early April, we find Grégory Doucet with leather and coconut sandals. In question: the inhabitants denounce once again the lack of consideration of the mayor in relation to their living environment at the Guillotière. “Is your life at La Guillotière hell? The City of Lyon has the solution and offers you this Quechua jute bag filled with soothing delicacies!“, reads the poster.
As an illustration, a “Ville de Lyon” flocked bag, with a bottle of orange juice, foie gras and smoked salmon. A reference to a decision by the town hall to ban foie gras from its official receptions, as Lyon Capitale announced last December. Two months later, according to an internal and provisional document, the town hall would also have liked to withdraw salmon and orange juice from its receptions.
At the bottom of the poster it reads:You’re lucky, it’s too much of the ball!“. Once again, reference is made to the gunshots on Place Raspail. A way for the collective to put pressure on the decisions of the mayor, considered futile in comparison with the problems of the district.
A wanted notice for Grégory Doucet
And when the mayor of Lyon does not respond to the demands of the unions, a new parody falls. In April 2021, the CGT of the City of Lyon publishes a search notice for “Greg the Green“. A parody opinion that supports the mayor’s political party (Europe Ecologie-Les Verts).”Last seen on the banks of the Rhône, he was on his bike“, describes the poster.
At the time, the CGT entrusted Lyon Capitale only after “all these dead letters, we wanted to sting him a bit through the media to try to get some feedback from him on the particular problems of the agents“. The union also denounced the fact that”the management of Gérard Collomb, the previous mayor, remained in place at the town hall“.”Under cover of good intentions, it is still the Republic on the move that holds the controls of the city“.

“Live my life” as a resident
Parodies to translate too big a gap between the mayor and the inhabitants? This is what this parody invitation from the collective “La Guillotière enrage” suggests for an episode of the show “Vis ma vie”, a television show where a personality shares the daily life of a stranger by being in his skin. the time of a day. Here, Grégory Doucet is invited to come and pass “a day with Maria and Antonio, inhabitants of Place Gabriel Péri“, “without Flavie Flament, but with real inhabitants“. An invitation left unanswered today.
“It’s our Charlie Hebdo side”
So why so many parodies? When asked the question to Nathalie Balmat, president of the collective “La Guillotière enrage”, she answers: “It’s our Charlie Hebdo side, better to laugh than to cry because the situation is deplorable“. For the time being, the parodies promise to continue to flow on the collective’s Twitter, not ready to change their tune.
