Formula E Nissan e.dams: return to the iconic Monaco track
Nissan e.dams will return to the iconic Monaco street circuit this weekend for round six of the 2021/22 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. Last year, after a thrilling race on the principality’s distinguished layout, the team finished sixth and scored eight points in the championship.
The Monaco track is a favorite of motorsport fans. Last season the race there was fast, competitive and thrilling, with countless overtaking and changing positions.
This year the teams will compete on the full circuit layout, so the harbor chicane will be changed from last year’s race. With its unique combination of hairpins, tight chicanes, steep drop-offs, not to mention the long tunnel, this legendary track never fails to put riders through extreme trials and put on a fantastic show for fans.
This season, the team has been intimately linked from its presence in Formula E to Nissan’s on-road electric vehicles. Thus, in Monaco as on the other circuits of the planet, Sébastien Buemi drove the Nissan ARIYA n°23, named after Nissan’s brand new 100% electric crossover coupé. His teammate Maximilian Günther drives the Nissan LEAF n°22, named after the pioneer of electric vehicles, the first generation of which was delivered in 2010.
Nissan is participating in the Formula E championship to generate excitement and fun around electric mobility. As part of its goal to achieve carbon neutrality across its entire business and product life cycle by 2050, Nissan intends to electrify all of its new models by the early 1960s. 2030 in key markets. Nissan’s expertise will help bring electric knowledge and technology from the track to the road, providing customers with ever more efficient zero-emission vehicles.
