Unions – Frankfurt am Main – Thousands of participants expected at May rallies in Hesse – career
Frankfurt/Marburg (dpa/lhe) – Thousands of people are again expected at the trade union rallies in Hesse on “Labor Day”. Under the motto “GeMAInsam Shaping the Future”, the German Federation of Trade Unions has called for people to take to the streets for peace, justice and social cohesion. The 33 events throughout Hesse are also marked by the Ukraine war. This is an attack on the European peace order, which is based on freedom, human rights, self-determination and justice, according to the DGB’s appeal for May 1st.
The DGB district chairman Michael Rudolph had referred to the sharp rise in energy prices, which meant an enormous burden, especially for people with small and medium-sized incomes, and not only had to be further cushioned, but also had to be taken into account in the upcoming collective bargaining rounds. The aim is to maintain the purchasing power of employees. The DGB will also underpin its demands on the world of work on May 1st. The trade union federation is critical of the planned increase in the mini-job limit from 450 to 520 euros, which would expand mini-jobs.
Rudolf will speak at a rally in Marburg. Anja Piel is expected in Kassel by the executive DGB national board and in Frankfurt the famous DGB national chairwoman Elke Hannack.
