Toulouse. Solidarity egg hunt with Secours Populaire
On Wednesday in the Compans Cafarelli garden in Toulouse, families helped as well as the general public participated in the big solidarity egg hunt organized by the Secours Populaire de la Haute-Garonne. This year’s objective: to make children aware of international solidarity through around ten workshops. “At Secours Populaire, we help financially, but also by exchanging skills. By working with local partners, we carry out concrete actions in different countries such as El Salvador, for example, where the women of a cooperative have succeeded in multiplying by 5 their salary” explains Aubane Saboureau, project manager. The children had to validate their passage through at least six workshops before going to the park in search of plastic eggs that could be exchanged for chocolate candies. In this national movement which is celebrating its 30th anniversary, children aged 7 to 14 are both authors and actors of solidarity projects. “This year they have chosen to help the homeless at the end of the world by participating with the Secours Populaire de Paris in the construction of a night shelter in Saint Petersburg” specifies Marthe, coordinator at the club. A project which, given the news, was coupled with emergency aid to Ukraine.
