There are currently only six DAB + transmitters in Slovakia, one was switched off this week
As of this week, 7 are active in Slovakia, but only 6 DAB + transmitters. One was turned off. Specifically, it is a transmitter in Banská Bystrica from the elevation Panský diel, which is operated by the operator AVIS. It is not officially known at this time why it was shut down.
According to our findings, AVIS switched off its DAB + transmitter in Banská Bystrica only temporarily. In the future, however, it is expected to spread to Multipcom Towercom (Multiplex Center). AVIS will have DAB + in Banská Bystrica and will also broadcast the same station as the nearby Laskomer transmitter.
Towercom currently operates five DAB + transmitters in Slovakia: Bratislava – Kamzík (12C), Banská Bystrica – Laskomer (12A), Košice – Heringeš (12B), Žilina – Krížava (12A) and Dunajská Streda – city (12C). The AVIS subsidiary currently operates only one transmitter, namely Nitra – Zobor (10C), which, however, spreads a multiplex (West) from Towercom. More detailed parameters of the transmitter can be found in the Transmitters section.
In addition, at least two new DAB + transmitters could be launched this year. It should be Trenčín – Nad Oborou (12C) and Rimavská Sobota – Paláska (11C). We already informed about the details in February.
