After days and days of points from all individual Organization Générale des Amateurs de l’Eurovision (OGAE) clubs around the world, the final results are ready and Cornelia Jakobs from Sweden has won this year’s OGAE vote for Eurovision 2022!
OGAE is an international organization consisting of a network of 43 Eurovision Song Contest fan clubs across Europe and beyond.
It is a different network than INFE, but both share the similar ideals of uniting fans in their love of Eurovision.
Every year since 2007, the OGAE has conducted a poll before the Eurovision Song Contest where each national club plus OGAE the rest of the world votes among all entries participating in each year’s competition, with the same points system as that of Eurovision. Each club’s favorite song gets 12 points, followed by 10 points for second place, 8 points for third place and then 7 points down to 1 point for the remaining seven best. Just like in Eurovision, countries can not vote for themselves.
After the results from 43 participating clubs from Europe, Australia and around the world, Sweden finished at the top with 393 points.
Sweden received points from 41 clubs and 16 sets with 12 points, most of which were awarded a contribution in the poll! This includes 12 points from Australia! You can see how Australia voted in the OGAE vote for Eurovision 2022 here.
Sheldon Riley has finished in 18th place with 16 points in the poll and received points from Latvia, Italy, Cyprus, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Portugal and the rest of the world.
