Vienna Cammarota is in Friuli!
Vienna is in Friuli!
It’s a latisana !!
Now Vienna Cammarota has entered Friuli Venezia – Giulia and tomorrow it will be in Palmanova!
Cammarota of Vienna72 years old, Ambassador of the Italian Cultural Association, Archeoclub D’Italia, left from the Isola del Lazzaretto Nuovo in Venice, destination Beijing!
The Italy – China Association has given her the Ferrari hat with which Vienna will walk through 15 countries.
But above all, the Ambassador of Archeoclub D’Italia will bring the banner of Venice with the words “peace” abroad.
Cammarota of Vienna (Archeoclub Ambassador of Italy, long walker): “In the afternoon I arrived in Latisana and here there is a wonderful cycle path that connects Latisana to Lignano, therefore a very green culture. I think I will cross the border with Slovenia between 2 – 3 May, I am about 100 km from Slovenia “.
Luca Zaia (President of the Veneto Region): “Vienna Cammarota, to bring a message of peace along the entire Silk Road, following Marco Polo’s Million, arriving in Beijing. A message of peace that the flag of Venice carries within itself, as the banner with the Lion of San Marco is the only one in the world to have the word “Peace”.
Rosario Santanastasio (National President of Archeoclub D’Italia): “At the center there is a fundamental concept: with culture we can improve society. Today young people are almost glued to smartphones or in front of computers and instead Vienna, which is 72 years old, all sends us a different message. You use your mobile phone only to communicate the essential and share the beauty “.
Here are the pictures
“In the afternoon I arrived in Latisana and here there is a wonderful cycle path that connects Latisana to Lignano, therefore a very green culture.
I think I will cross the border with Slovenia between 2 – 3 May, I am about 100 km from Slovenia, 140 km from Ljubljana. It was a flat route with no difficulties.
The idea of this path had already been planned in 2000 but over time, this path has become the path of peace.
At the beginning he was moved only by the desire to discover, to know, by the curiosity to embrace other peoples, but now it is a path of peace. Tomorrow I will arrive in Palmanova after having traveled about 38 km on foot! “.
He affirmed it Cammarota of Vienna, 72 years old, long-time walker who will be the first woman in the world to leave Venice to walk to Beijing along the Silk Road in contemporary times.
A path of rhythm started yesterday from the Lazzaretto Nuovo in Venice, a naturalistic oasis, an important archaeological, historical and environmental museum, thanks to which it is possible to learn about the history of Venice.
And all over the world there is talk of the great enterprise of the Cilento woman, Ambassador of Archeoclub D’Italia. “The Italian grandmother leaves for a 22,000 km excursion in the footsteps of Marco Polo”, headlines The Independent, “Auf Marco Polos Spuren: Italienerin wandert von Venedig bis Peking”, headlines the German Der Standard, “Italian woman, 72 years old, to travel the vie di Marco Polo from Venice to Beijng “headlines The Guardian, and again 72 – letnia Wloszka wyruszyla w piesza …” headlines TVN24 in Poland, and numerous international press agencies that are beating declarations from Vienna, extensively reporting the history of ‘Ambassador Archeoclub D’ Italy from the Austrian APA, to the Russian TASS, from the Spanish EFE, to the Polish PAP, to the German DPA.
Therefore Vienna Cammarota is also a heritage of the world with its history of sharing.
And tomorrow Vienna, will leave at 6, this is the usual time when the Cammarota starts the journey.
“At the center there is a fundamental concept: with culture we can improve society. Today young people are almost glued to smartphones or in front of computers and instead Vienna, which is 72 years old, all sends us a different message.
You use your mobile phone only to communicate the essential and share the beauty. For example Vienna – said Rosario Santanastasio, National President of Archeoclub D’Italia – today she arrived in latisana.
It is a village in the lower Veneto-Friuli plain, on the left bank of the lower course of the Tagliamento river and is part of the historical-geographical region of the Bassa Friuliana. It is a small town that has just over 13,000 inhabitants.
The territory, entirely flat, is today mainly used for agricultural purposes. In the floodplain areas of the Tagliamento river (ie in the strip of land between the river and the embankments and subject to periodic flooding) wooded areas of modest size survive. Until the first decades of the 20th century, a substantial part of the territory was occupied by swamps and forests. Latisana also has a great history.
It is, in fact, an area inhabited since prehistoric times, as evidenced by the discovery of Neolithic human remains (VI-V millennium BC) in Piancada, in the nearby municipality of Palazzolo dello Stella.
There are no certain data on the Roman origin of Latisana, but only hypotheses based on a diary of 333, written by a pilgrim from Aquitaine.
The Roman origin of Latisana is also attested by its name predialthat is derived from that of the Roman colonist who was called Atisio or Tisioprobably a former legionary of rank, to whom a fund was assigned during the period of the centuriation of the Aquileian countryside.
Latisana is also rich in churches that preserve a notable historical heritage. There is no lack of traces of the Serenissima to which Latisana territory belonged until the Treaty of Campoformio in 1797. This was also important for the fate of the Second World War.
On 11 November 1873, the first bridge over the Tagliamento was inaugurated that permanently linked Latisana to the rest of Italy: it consisted of 13 wooden spans, was 170 meters long and 10 meters high above the river level and replaced the dangerous transit of men and wagons between the two banks by means of a boat step anchored to a winch.
The two great wars of the twentieth century saw Latisana as the protagonist given its geographical and strategic position. In 1917, following the rout of Caporetto, Latisana, like all of Friuli, was occupied by the Austro-Hungarian army.
During the retreat, the town was heavily bombed: over 100 houses, its churches and the two bridges, road and rail, were destroyed. Over 160 Latisan citizens died altogether during the Great War.
The Second World War involved the largest Friulian town in a still disastrous way. Starting from 10 September 1943, following the armistice of Cassibile, it was included together with the rest of Friuli and Venezia Giulia in the Operational Area of the Adriatic coast, placed under the control of the Third Reich.
On May 19, 1944, the Allied bombing (which targeted the two road and rail bridges over the Tagliamento river) caused 88 deaths and the complete destruction of the center of Latisana. Latisana was liberated by the allied troops on 1 May 1945.
How not to mention the Nobel Prize for literature Ernest Hemingway who, passing through Latisana, met his future lover Adriana Ivancich for the first time.
This event was narrated in the novel Beyond the River and Among the Trees, published in 1950. The meeting place is today marked by a commemorative plaque, installed on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the event. Hemingway returned to Latisana on April 15, 1954 on the occasion of a trip to Italy.
In 1959 the fraction of Lignano Sabbiadoro, in the meantime established itself as a seaside resort of international fame, became an autonomous municipality. There are important churches such as the Cathedral of San Giovanni Battista, the Church of Sant’Antonio, the Church of the Beata Vergine delle Grazie, the Church of Santa Maria del Mare, the Church of Sant’Anna, the hospital chapel, the Church della Madonna della Strada, the Church of Santa Maria Maddalena, the Church of Santi Filippo and Giacomo Apostoli, the Church of the Holy Spirit, the Church of San Giuseppe Sposo della Beata Vergine Maria. Tomorrow Vienna will arrive in Palmanova, not before 2.00 pm! “.
Ferrari hat but also the Flag of Venice!
On departure from the Lazzaretto Nuovo also greetings from the Municipality of Venice!
“Starting from the Lazzaretto Nuovo, a symbol of Venice’s far-sightedness – declared Deborah Onisto, Vice President of the Culture Commission of the Municipality of Venice – and resuming the path of Marco Polo, has a value of sharing and enrichment with other peoples. Venice has always been a city of the world, a city of peace. Here in Venice every population has been able to find not only thriving trade but also cultural and social activities. Venice represents the symbol of the path of rhythm and sharing “.
And in China Vienna will bring the Ferrari cap, given to her by Giuseppe Zhu, President of the Italy – China Association. A great welcome in Beijing is expected for the Ambassador of Archeoclub D’Italia.
Vienna was welcomed by Gerolamo FazziniPresident of the Archeoclub D’Italia seat of Venice who donated the banner of Venice with the word “peace”.
And also the President of the Veneto Region, Luca Zaia, wanted to greet her.
“It was 1423 when the Republic of Venice opened the first hospital in history. It is located on an island in the central lagoon of the city – stated Luca Zaia, President of the Veneto Region – close to the Lido and in front of the San Marco basin. It was then in the Lazzaretto Nuovo, to distinguish it from the old one, that the “quarantine” was invented, that is forty days of isolation, for the ships that arrived in Venice from many places in the Mediterranean.
And it is precisely from the Lazzaretto Nuovo that Vienna Cammarota leaves, to bring a message of peace along the entire Silk Road, following Marco Polo’s Million, arriving in Beijing. A message of peace that the flag of Venice carries within itself, being the banner with the Lion of San Marco the only one in the world to have the word “Peace”.
What I hope can be achieved as soon as possible in Ukraine, not with weapons but with the language of diplomacy, so that other people do not lose their lives. Thus, it explains well that initiatives like this are promoters of the universal value of peace and respect through dialogue in every aspect of social and civil life.
I also take this opportunity to thank the Venice branch of the Archeoclub D’Italia for the commitment to enhance this place while protecting our historical memory “.
Vienna Cammaro arrives in China not before December 202, reaches 75 years, will descend after 22.00 km, and to have Croatia, and to have Slovenia, Serbia, Bulgaria, then to Turkey, Georgia, Iran. Turkimenistan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, then China.
But here’s why Cammarota of Vienna started from the Isola del Lazzaretto Nuovo in Venice!
“Vienna Cammarota began its journey towards Beijing, from a very important place for the history of Venice and Europe. The Lazzaretto Nuovo is among the Venetian hospitals, the only one to have been fully recovered in recent decades.
Today, after the many restorations carried out – said Gerolamo Fazzini, archaeologist and President of Archeoclub D’Italia based in Venice, on the eve of the departure of Vienna Cammarota – in addition to the historical-archaeological and monumental aspects, it can also be used as a naturalistic and environmental area: an ecomuseum.
In Venice after the “Lazzaretto vecchio” (1423), the first lazaretto in history, where manifest cases of plague were isolated, in 1468 a second health facility was established which had the task of isolating the suspects, called “lazzareto novo” to distinguish it on the other already existing, Lazzaretto Vecchio. So this is where the first quarantine was born, we will see the green pass, with the use of sanitation techniques. Interesting are the archaeological area, the Tezon Grande now a museum with numerous finds, then the Walls with the belvedere, the Path of the Sandbanks able to show the lagoon in its original state “.
