Toulouse. A petition against the sale of the Vion fire station
In order to demonstrate their opposition to the sale of the Vion fire station in Toulouse, a collective has launched an online petition.
Since the town hall of Toulouse has decided to separate from the Vion fire station, in the Saint-Cyprien district of Toulouse, a group has formed to oppose this decision. He launched an online petition. The latter has some 270 signatures.
“During the last city council of Toulouse, on April 1, 2022, the town hall decided to put the Vion barracks up for sale without any kind of consultation having taken place on the subject! “, regrets the collective Save the Vion barracks. “As Toulousains, as inhabitants of the St Cyprien district, we oppose the sale of the historical heritage of the city so that it (still) benefits private operators! »
In this petition, the collective says “ no to the sale of the Vion barracks ! No to the sale of Toulouse’s heritage! For the development of a pole of public services and a long-term strategic management of the land of our city! »
He considers that this barracks built between 1966 and 172 constitutes ” an exceptional real estate complex which offers immense possibilities for developing a large public service center there, which could be concerted with the inhabitants and residents to meet the needs of the district. The complex is made up in particular of 85 dwellings which were intended to accommodate firefighters and which could now be renovated into social housing, a hall of approximately 1,200 m², an amphitheater of 110 m², a mixed-use office and residential building of around 3,100 m² on the Allées Charles de Fitte, a 350 m² gymnasium, a swimming pool and a diving pit, a drying tower, a a two-level underground car park. »
