Kitzbühel signs striker from Red Bull Salzburg! – Hockey-News.info
The EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel will be attacking with Finnish power in the coming season. After Joonas Niemelä, the 20-year-old right-hand shooter and winger Rasmus Lahnaviik managed to get to the Gamsstadt.
Lahnaviik started his career at Kiekko-Vantaa, then switched to Jokerit Helsinki and made 26 appearances in the Suomi youth teams from U16 to U20. A highlight are 4 missions in the KHL with Jokerit. In the 2020/21 season he played 21 games for Kiekko-Vantaa in the Mestis and last season he was involved in the organization of Red Bulls Salzburg. He convinced with the RB Hockey Juniors in the AlpsHL as a reliable scorer. In 34 games he had an impressive 24 goals and 16 assists. He was also involved in 6 games in the Red Bulls professional team.
“Of course I noticed Rasmus last season and after he left Salzburg, we got in touch and had very good discussions with him and his agent about the possibilities for his further development in Kitzbühel,” said Vice President Michael Widmoser.
Rasmus Lahnaviik: “I’m looking forward to the season with the Eagles. The season with the RB Hockey Juniors showed me that the AlpsHL is perfect for my further development. Adler shows great interest in me and we have good conversations. Head coach Marco Pewal has a very good game philosophy and places great value on the development of young players. I’m looking forward to the idyllic Kitzbühel and will do my utmost to make ice hockey in Kitzbühel even more popular in addition to skiing.”
