3 complaints filed after stings in nightclubs
Three complaints were filed in Toulouse by women claiming to be victims of injections in a nightclub. The prosecution has opened an investigation for “administration of harmful substance”. Toxicological analyzes are underway to determine whether or not it is GHB, the “rape drug”.
Wild bites in festive places. The phenomenon has been growing since March. “I was stung at a party…I lost consciousness for a few minutes”, testifies a nightclub client on the Balance ton bar Instagram account. And to add: “I noticed a few days later the mark of a bite on my arm”.
In a few weeks, the reports multiplied and 88 complaints were filed in France: in Rennes, Nantes, Grenoble, Béziers and recently Toulouse.
In Toulouse, 3 women who consider themselves victims of these bites have chosen to file a complaint against X. The facts date back to the weekends of April 16 and 23 and they occurred in a club in the city. Impossible to say for the moment if they were injected with GHB, the “rape drug”.
An investigation has been opened by the head of the administration of harmful substances and biological analyzes of the samples taken from the victims are in progress.

The investigation was entrusted to the Toulouse Departmental Security.
Coming from England, where he creates panic, the worried phenomenon and in the first place the managers of bars and nightclubs.
In 2021, these festive places have already had to deal with the resurgence of cases of customers drugged without their knowledge with GHB, the “rape drug” applied in consumption.
They have therefore already reinforced security in their establishments with more staff and some nightclubs are equipped with several dozen video surveillance cameras.
It is very difficult to identify… We will have to be even more vigilant.

For the moment, the reason for these bites remains unknown. No cases of suspected sexual assault have been reported.
The toxicological analyzes carried out also did not make it possible to determine whether a drug or other harmful substance had been absorbed. Concerning GHB, the “rape drug”, the analysis is very complicated because the substance is only detectable during the few hours that monitor the administration.
These attacks raise another problem for the victims: the risk of transmission of HIV, the AIDS virus by syringes. As a precaution, all are prescribed a screening test and treatment for HIV.
For the time being, no syringe has been found in a night establishment. And the perpetrators of these wild stings are still on the run.
For the administration of harmful substances, they encourage a sentence of up to three years in prison. See even 10 years if the premeditation is retained.
