The diploma will no longer be useful for enlisting in the army as a volunteer!
Good news for those who want to join the Belgian army: no more diplomas will be required to be able to submit an application!
Belgium opens the doors of its army! While it was necessary hold at least a diploma to be able to engage until this year, a law has just been passed: everyone can now become a sailor or a soldier. MCETV explains everything about it!
A model similar to France
Because until now, Belgium required a CEB to commit. CEB stands for “basic study certificate”, which is equivalent to a 6th level in France. But under the impulse of the left, Belgium withdraws this requirement to be able to integrate the army.
Indeed, as underlined by the Belgian Minister of DefenseLudivine Deldonder, the CEB “is an administrative formality with no added value”. Clearly, the diploma is worth nothing, whether we have it or not. No need, therefore, to ask for it to enter.
As in France, Belgium opens the doors of its volunteer army. It must also be said that the entrance tests make much more of a difference. ” The other admission tests remain applicable., so that the basic level to be reached by recruits remains guaranteed. »
So it’s not a big change. But Belgium still had to debate a minimum level of diploma. The minister replied with the example of France, which does not require a patent, a baccalaureate or a CAP. Because recruitment is done on the ground.
“The majority of volunteer candidates have a certificate of primary education”, pleads the Belgian minister again. But beware. As in France, recruitment can be done at several levels. So you have to know how to tell the difference.
No degree, but…
As Tibo InShape pointed out in his army video, there are several grades. And therefore several levels of study. It is thus necessary to know what one wants to do by committing, to have the sufficient baggage once all the tests passed to enter.
Indeed, there are schools for non-commissioned officers, in France as in Belgium. These schools, which award higher grades, issue a diploma. The basic level of education will therefore play a role crucial in your career. Because it will allow us to move forward.
Thus, in France, if you join the army at bac+5, you can hope to incorporate senior officers. You still have to pass the required tests. Because a battery of physical and psychological tests can put the nerves to the test.
No question, therefore, of imagining becoming a general without a diploma. It’s necessary succeed in advancing in their studies before becoming a volunteer. Because the difference can be scary. Without baccalaureate, one thus arrives “soldier of rank”. When, with the baccalaureate, you arrive as a non-commissioned officer.
The higher the level of study, the higher the grade. Above bac+2, one can become a volunteer officer. This consists, in France, of a one-year contract to discover the army. But in functions other than those of combat.
At the end of this year, the volunteer can decide to “really” commit. He can also decide to continue as a volunteer. The Belgian model works much the same way. After 3 or even 4 years, you still have to make a final choice.
