The Salzburg company triathlon sees itself primarily as a team sports event with the opportunity to get a taste of triathlon air. The concept of short distances for teams of three has proven to be the best. Team spirit and movement were the focus right from the start and have so far enabled over 5,000 participants to complete the relay triathlon.

For the company sports organizations of the Chamber of Commerce and Chamber of Labor Salzburg, the Salzburg company triathlon jumped on the triathlon boom in Salzburg at exactly the right time. “We chose a relay competition with very short distances because we want to get as many company employees as possible to swim, cycle and run. For many, the combination of all three disciplines would be too much. But if everyone only has one discipline, then it’s just a lot more fun!”, said the two managing directors of the company sports organizations, Reinhard Sitzler from WK and Reinhold Hinterleitner from AK Salzburg.

Team spirit is good for the working atmosphere

Exercise and sports for employees is healthy, creates a necessary balance to the challenges of the working world and, above all, doing sports together with work colleagues is very good for the working atmosphere. dr Gerald Hübner, President of the “Salzburg Chamber of Commerce Company Sports” association, emphasizes the community and health aspect of this event: “Even individual and micro-enterprises – by which we mean companies with up to five started from one or two companies of the same size – are welcome and can form teams of three and take part!”

To take part in the 10th Salzburg Company Triathlon, you have to register online together with your teammates. The registration fee per season is €75. Then it’s time for the individual disciplines, the distances are 180 meters swimming, about eight kilometers cycling and almost four kilometers running.

Award ceremony again at the “Dult”

The event site is located on the Salzachsen in Salzburg Liefering, parking is available on site and at the Salzburg Exhibition Center. The first start wave starts at 3 p.m. with a maximum of 50 relay teams, with the additional relay teams being sent out on the route at a time interval of ten minutes.

After a break of several years, the award ceremony will take place again as part of the Salzburger Dult. Not only the class-winning teams in the categories female, male and mixed are honored, but also the fastest teams from the districts.
