The 29th International Easter Meeting organized by the ASA begins
The first sessions of the 29th International Easter Meeting, organized by the Malta Water Sports Association, started today at the Tal-Qroqq National Swimming Pool.
The three-day swimming bonanza will continue in the usual format hosting Heats in the morning and Finals in the afternoon.
The 29th International Easter Meeting, which is an official FINA qualifying event, will see 265 athletes representing eleven Clubs compete in 76 events.
On the first day of competition, Thomas Wareing set a new national record in the 200m Medley. His time of 2: 07.95 beat the previous record of 2: 08.34 he set in 2021 in Hungary.
Meanwhile a number of Easter Meet records were also set by Matthew Satariano setting an Easter Meet Group C Record in the 100m freestyle, clocking a time of 55.75. In the 800m freestyle event Alexsandar Savic clocked a time of 8: 26.50, while Sasha Gatt clocked a time of 9: 02.22.
The second day of competition will start on Friday morning at 9am.
