2. Liga: Last minute win for Wacker Innsbruck against Rapid II – football
In the 26th round of the Admiral 2nd league, FC Wacker Innsbruck beat Rapid II 2-1.
After a goalless first half, in which both teams can find chances, the Wacker fans cause excitement after the restart. Smoke bombs and pyrotechnics are used in the Innsbruck fan sector, and the referee interrupts the game for several minutes due to poor visibility on the pitch.
In the 55th minute, the guests then take the lead through Rene Kriwak. Wacker goalie Eckmayr can only clear a header after a Rapid corner, but Kriwak can sink the rebound into the goal.
Questionable compensation for Wacker
The Tyroleans then become stronger, but the equalizer for the home side is more than controversial.
Velimirovic hits a candle in his own penalty area, Rapid goalkeeper Orgler jumps towards the ball with outstretched arms to catch it in the five. Ronivaldo jumps into the guest goalie, who then maneuvers the ball into his own goal (78th).
The Rapidler rightly protested foul play, but referee Risoskov surprisingly accepted the goal.
The Innsbruckers continue to set the pace, Bertaccini misses a top chance in the final phase (88th). At the end of injury time, the Tyroleans countered the young Hütteldorfer ice cold: Marco Holz prevailed in the penalty area against Velimirovic and scored the very late winner for the Tyroleans (90 + 8).
Wacker Innsbruck and Rapid II remain table neighbors. The Tyroleans are nine with 36 points, the Hütteldorfer are seven points behind.
