The best Young Reporters will represent Slovakia at a foreign forum
As YRE National Coordinator Richard Medal informed, despite the difficult social situation, Slovak young environmental reports have shown that they once again want to solve problems in their surroundings. In cooperation with teachers, students submitted 73 entries – articles, photographs and reportage videos.
“Hana Noščáková (18 years old) from Bratislava will represent Slovakia in an international competition with her photo story Frog Taxi, which she approached, trying to get involved in the interest of saving frogs in the city forest park. The same topic, spring migration of frogs in the form of a selfie video (NE) of a fighter lifeguard, was processed by 13-year-old Hanka Zubová from Nová Dubnica and will defend her last year’s world championship at the international level in the category of 11-14 years, ” introduced the medal.
Reporters from the Grammar School in Dubnice nad Váhom won the first place for reporting Bats did not lose their refuge. The whole team from K. Kuffner Elementary School in Sládkovičovo won a special jury for practical work in the field, as well as a whole series of contributions on the topic of biodiversity protection on Sládkovičovo Dune. The team of pupils from Ján Zeman Elementary School in Nová Baní also won first place for the article The Averted Face of the Novoban Tajch. Thanks to the long-term cooperation with OZV ENVI-PAK, waste issues were also strongly represented in the competition.
“The international results of the competition will be announced on July 10. All reporters awarded within the Slovak round, as well as their teachers, will receive an invitation to the traditional June workshop of Young Reporters, during which they will have the opportunity to improve their reporting skills, “ closed medal.
