NHL | The new NHL season will start in Prague! Hertl et al.
After the success of the Global Series 2019, when the Chicago and Philadelphia teams presented themselves in Prague, the NHL’s airdrop to Europe was to be repeated in 2020. However, the Prague duel between Boston and Nashville was canceled by a coronavirus pandemic.
However, the Predators will see a trip to the old continent. But instead of David Pastrňák from Boston, another Czech star will arrive – Tomáš Hertl.

“When I heard that, I couldn’t believe it. “It’s amazing, I can’t wait,” the 28-year-old Sharks striker told NHL.com. “It will be a great experience,” Hertl is looking forward to.
Defender Radim Šimek also works in San Jose, and forward Adam Raška plays in the Barracuda farming team. He currently catches goalkeeper David Rittich for Nashville, but he doesn’t have a contract next year. However, the Predators still have forward Jáchym Kondelík and goalkeeper Tomáš Vomáček in the reserve teams under contract.
Hertl expects to need at least 40 tickets for his loved ones. “It will be a rumble, but I don’t just want to deal with tickets. I’m looking forward to playing at home. I have a lot of memories of 02 arena. I also went there to sweep like a boy during matches. The best matches were against Pardubice, when we could take the gingerbreads that landed on the ice home, “Hertl remembered with a smile.
Šimek has already experienced something in the Prague hall. “I have beautiful memories when we won the title over Sparta there in 2016. I have already played there for the national team training against Canada, “reminded the 29-year-old. But he likes to trust Hertl’s role as a team guide.
“I don’t like standing in columns, so I go to Černý Most as much as possible. Hertlík pulls us all out, so he pulls me out. The boys who played at the World Cup in 2015 may have visited more restaurants in Prague than I have in my entire life, ”Šimek smiled.
The NHL will present itself in the Czech Republic for the fourth time. It was the first time in 2008 that the Rangers and Tampa competed here, and two years later the Boston Hockey players started their journey for the Stanley Cup. Three years ago, the Flyers succeeded in a duel with the Blackhawks.
“Some of the boys pissed me off, so they said why we’re going to such a hole,” Hertl revealed.
