It is the eighth edition in the region: the previous ones in Bologna (3 editions), Modena, Reggio Emilia, Parma and Piacenza, the last, in 2013 Bologna- Bands and fanfare, tournaments, performances, exhibitions, and a long parade day. The famous National Gathering of the Alpini, after the stop due to the pandemic, arrives for the first time in Rimini. Four days, from 5 to 8 May next, full of events, which will end with the key event: the great parade that will last all day on Sunday and which will bring about 90 thousand Alpine troops on parade along the seafront of the coastal capital, divided by membership sections and accompanied by numerous bands and fanfare. A special edition full of meaning because this year the Alpine Corps is celebrating the 150th anniversary of its birth. And for the occasion, on Friday 6 May at 6 pm, all the War Flags of the Alpine Army regiments will parade in Rimini and will reach the Galli Theater where they will be on show to the public. The territory and the city of Rimini is thus preparing to host about 500 thousand people, including the members of the brigades, their families and fans of the specialty of the Infantry from all over Italy. A significant opportunity also for tourism with direct and indirect induced activities estimated at 145 million euros (elaboration of the Regional Tourist Observatory). An immediate economic return, but also an important opportunity for tourism visibility and promotion for Emilia-Romagna and its Riviera, thanks to the dissemination of the regional holiday offer on multiple channels in the numerous information tools of the Gathering (official website , house organ), in addition to direct material distribution to the thousands of participants at the event. The Gathering, which takes place every year in a different Italian city, is chosen by a special commission two years in advance to evaluate, through inspections, the accommodation and organizational capacity of the city. For our region this is the eighth edition since 1920 – the year in which the gatherings began -, the last of which, nine years ago, in Piacenza: first the Alpine troops marched in Bologna (3 editions), Modena, Reggio Emilia and Parma. At the presentation, in the headquarters of the Region, in addition to numerous representatives of the Alpine Corps, the following intervened: the president of the Region, Stefano Bonaccini, the mayor of Rimini, Jamil Sadegholvaad, the president of the National Alpine Association, Sebastiano Favero, the head of the Tourism department and Culture of the Republic of San Marino, Filippo Francini, the commander of the General CA Alpine Troops, Ignazio Gamba. The meeting was moderated by the director of L’Alpino, Bruno Fasani. “Seeing the Alpini parade along the Rimini seafront will be a glance of great effect – says President Bonaccini – and also an undeniable opportunity for visibility and attractiveness for the entire Riviera accommodation system which, thanks to its approximately 3,500 hotels it is among the main ones in Italy. But the meeting of the Alpini, in addition to the party, will also be an important moment of reflection in a period like the one we are experiencing, characterized by a terrible war and without justification ”. “Solidarity and a sense of duty are among the values that the black feathers have in common with our land. Values that were at the basis of the most difficult phases of the fight against Covid and which also saw the Alpine troops in the front row. Values - closes the president – that we find today in the commitment of the whole regional system for the reception of Ukrainian refugees fleeing the conflict, with the hope that they can reach a ceasefire and peace as soon as possible ”. “Let’s go back to the National Gathering after two very difficult years – underlines the president of Ana, Favero -, in which the National Alpine Association played an important role, responding to the call of the country with thousands of volunteers who provided control of the territory, distribution of masks and drugs, supporting the elderly, then engaging extensively in the vaccination campaign hubs “.
