He steals two goblets in a church in Florence, an elderly man chases him and alerts the police: arrested
Florence, 21 April 2022 – Theft in church in Florence, in via di Caciolle. L’alarm it went off yesterday morning when a 70-year-old called the policeshortly before 10, denouncing that he had noticed a man quickly leaving the place of worship with two golden goblets sticking out of his jacket pockets.
The elderly man wanted to go through with the story and so he followed the suspect who, after walking for meters, stopped behind some garbage bins: in a few moments a steering wheel arrived. Upon seeing them together, the protagonist of the story then has agents together in vain to get rid of her, throwing her behind bushes with a couple of screwdrivers. The policemen after having stopped and recovered everything, they reconstructed the phases of the theft also through the system video surveillance of the church from it would have emerged that with the screwdrivers seized the arrested would have forced a tabernacle that contained the stolen goblets in brass and silver.
The two pyxes, which fortunately did not suffer damage, immediately returned to their place, while, pending arrest, the 66-year-old, originally from Sicily, is currently under house arrest.
