First comes blood rain to Austria, then 20 degrees – weather
In the run-up to the Mediterranean low “Simone”, several tons of Saharan dust are now reaching Central and Southern Europe – and thus also reaching Austria.
The low “Simone” is slowly approaching the Alpine region from the Mediterranean Sea on Thursday. In the run-up to the low, the high-level current turns to the south and, with milder air, Saharan dust reaches Central and Eastern Europe again. For the time being, however, it will remain mostly dry, only on Friday will the low shift from Corsica to Hungary, causing more unstable weather for us again. On Saturday, the situation calmed down only temporarily, because Austria was on the front of the next low “Thalke” near the Bay of Biscay. In the Alps, a southern foehn blows up for a short time before the low crosses the Alps on Sunday.
Of the Thursday is usually still sunny, local areas of fog or residual clouds quickly dissipate. In the afternoon it will cover from the Silvretta to Upper Carinthia and in the evening there will be some rain on the main Alpine ridge. Otherwise it will be hazy from the south with veil clouds in the course of the day, but it will remain friendly and dry in large parts of the country until the evening. A moderate easterly wind blows in the northern foothills of the Alps. With 14 to 20 degrees it will be a little warmer.
Am Friday clouds predominate, especially in the south it rains at times from the morning and during the course of the day the mostly light rain spreads to large parts of the country. Before that, especially from the Inn to the Weinviertel, there are still a few hours of sunshine, even if the sky continues to appear hazy. Here, brisk east to south-east winds will pick up and it will cool down significantly, especially in the east. The maximum values are between 9 and 18 degrees.
20 degrees on the weekend
Of the Saturday turns out to be inconsistent, dense clouds with individual rain showers pass through again and again. Especially in the Danube region, in the eastern lowlands as well as in Vorarlberg and in the Inn Valley, the sun shines from time to time. It stays fresh in the north-east, but spring-like in the west and south. Temperatures reach 9 to 20 degrees.
also am Sunday it remains changeable, especially in Carinthia and in the far west, dense clouds persist and it rains a little at times. From the Inn Valley over the Salzburg mountain districts to Styria, the sun shines at times, but during the course of the day there are widespread rain showers and thunderstorms, especially after the high loosening. In Styria and Burgenland fresh brisk to strong south-westerly winds. Depending on the sun, the maximum values are between 9 and 19 degrees.
