Florence, 21 April 2022 – Florence will celebrate the 77th anniversary of the Liberation national. On Monday, the celebrations organized in the city, gold medal of the Resistance, will begin at 8 when, as a symbol of the Liberation, laurel wreaths will be deposited in places of the fallen; at 8.45 am the ceremony with laying a laurel wreath at the tomb of the Rosselli brothers in the presence of the councilor for culture of memory Alessandro Martini.

piazza dell’Unità d’Italiathe ceremony of thesolemn flag-raising and, as usual, two officers of the municipal police in full uniform will lay a laurel wreath at the monument to the fallen of all wars in the presence of the mayor Dario Nardellaof the prefect Valerio Valentiof the president of the Tuscany Region Eugenio Giani, a representative of the Anpi and a small delegation of the armed forces. Following, at 10.45 am, the procession will leave piazza dell’Unità italiana to reach Palazzo Vecchio colomba at 11, on the Arengariothe official ceremony will be held in which the mayor Dario Nardella, the prefect Valerio Valenti, the national vice-president of the Anpi and president of the Anpi Firenze Vania Bagni will intervene and Sergio Cofferati. In case of bad weather the ceremony will be held in the Salone dei Cinquecento in Palazzo Vecchio. At

Piazza della Signoria will be held on concert by the Florence Philharmonic Gioacchino Rossini. All initiatives will be held in compliance with the measures imposed by the pandemic.
